YouSound is the Internet for Music. It's made up of two connected apps that work seamlessly together to activate your community around your music. Together, they make music social, transparent, fair, and supported by people who care.

People pay a monthly fee for streaming. Artists earn directly from the subscribers who listen to them. Our model measures usage and engagement to determine which artists each subscriber listens to most, then distributes that subscriber's payment among the artists they support.

YouSound and YouSound Messages are free to use. The only limitation is that upgrades are required for streaming and for posting large media files in chat rooms. You can explore YouSound at no cost. You can join live broadcasts, save tracks, build playlists, follow artists, participate in chat rooms, and use messaging for free.

You can cancel anytime from your account settings. Your playlists, chats, and favorites stay saved, and you can resubscribe whenever you want.

YouSound Messages is a messaging network built to work seamlessly with YouSound, designed for artists and listeners to connect more deeply. As social media shifted music communities into fragmented, algorithm-driven feeds, it became harder for real scenes to form. YouSound Messages creates active music scenes through chat rooms and DMs, where exclusive content can be uploaded or shared directly from YouSound in a single tap. You can follow chat rooms and browse a media-only feed sorted by any artist and content type, making it easy to find and share easily. This helps people find their scenes, and artists collaborate, pooling listeners, creating shared chat rooms, and generating revenue together. With Messages, artists can sell products directly through DMs and chats using a familiar texting experience, keeping 100% of product revenue. Anyone can also join paid chat room subscriptions, and you keep 90%.

For listeners, the Listener plan includes unlimited streaming and basic messaging. For artists, the Pro plan includes unlimited streaming, the ability to sell products, charge for chat room access, post all media, plus 2GB of storage and enough usage for 100–200 listeners per month. All plans include full user management and privacy controls. You pay for what you use, with detailed tracking for storage and streaming—even down to partial plays. Paid plans (Pro $19.99/mo, Pro Plus $29.99/mo, Unlimited $49.99/mo + usage) unlock the ability to sell subscriptions to multiple chat rooms and digital products. For artists and listeners, the free tier includes 500MB of storage, basic messaging features (text + GIFs), and 1 chat room. To post videos, images, exclusive tracks, voice messages, or to sell products and chat room memberships, plans start at Pro $19.99/month. Unlike traditional social platforms, we do not sell your data. You pay only for the storage and usage that powers your community. This model keeps the platform ethical, protects your network from spam and algorithmic control, and ensures your audience, your data, and your revenue always belong to you. Smaller creators spend very little, while larger creators scale naturally and pay only for what they use. In the long run, paying a little gives you privacy, stability, independence, and true ownership, because free platforms ultimately cost you more.

If you exceed your storage limit, media uploads (videos, audio, images, voice messages) will be paused. You can still send text messages and GIFs. Delete old content or upgrade to continue uploading.

Unlimited tier has a $49.99/month base fee plus usage-based charges. When your usage reaches $10, we automatically charge your payment method. If payment fails, uploads pause and your plan reverts to Free until you update your payment method.

Yes, you can cancel your subscription at any time. You can resubscribe anytime to restore full access.

Free users: Content auto-deletes every 30 days. All paid plans: Content is retained for 90 days after account closure, then permanently deleted.

Chat rooms can be free, or you can set the subscription price for your room, up to $1000. All chat rooms require a subscription to see your media in a chat room, unless you make your content available for non-members. - Product sales: You keep 100% (no platform fee) - Room subscriptions: Platform takes 10% fee, you keep 90% (minus processing fees) - Example: $10/month subscription = $1.00 platform fee, ~$0.34 payment fees, you receive ~$8.66 Room pricing strategy: Each user on average burns ~$0.50-1.00/month in streaming costs. If you price your room at $5/month, you cover their costs + make ~$3.50 profit per subscriber. Price at $10/month = ~$8.50 profit per subscriber after all fees.

Revenue splits are based on real participation and are always shared equally among active collaborators. When you invite collaborators, they receive a DM with an Accept button Once accepted, they join the room with full privileges Collaborators must connect their Stripe account to receive payouts (one-time verification works across both YouSound and Messages) If a collaborator accepts but has not connected Stripe, they can fully participate but will not receive payouts until connected Payouts & Revenue Splits Subscription revenue is processed through Stripe Connect Streaming payouts are handled separately through Trolley Revenue is split equally among all active collaborators who meet activity requirements for that month Activity Requirements Only audio/video uploads count as meaningful posts You set the minimum number of posts required per month for your room First month with no activity: collaborator receives 0% but remains in the room After 3 consecutive months of inactivity: collaborator is automatically removed Inactive shares are redistributed equally among active collaborators Collaborators cannot be manually removed—only the system removes them after inactivity Example: If you invite 4 collaborators and all accept, but only 2 meet the activity requirement in a given month, those 2 split the revenue equally (50% each), and you receive the remaining share.

No, your messages are private and secure, but they are not encrypted. We prioritize transparency over privacy. This platform is designed for artists and creators and their supporters to maintain appropriate conversations. Our moderation team can access messages when necessary to ensure community safety and enforce content policies.
