Privacy Choices

How to control your data, notifications, and connections.

YouSound takes your privacy seriously. We provide comprehensive controls over your data and ensure complete transparency in how you can manage your privacy settings.

Downloading Your Data

To download a complete copy of your data:

  1. Login to YouSound
  2. Click your user avatar dropdown
  3. Click "View Profile"
  4. Click "Settings" tab
  5. Click "Account" tab
  6. Click "Download My Data"

Your data export will include your profile information, playlist data, upload history, and account settings.

Privacy Options

If you want to:Do this:
Update your user profile information and preferencesGo to "Settings", then click "Update Profile"
Disable or deactivate your YouSound user accountGo to "Settings", then click "Disable Account"
Close your account and delete your profile information. Note: If you close your account, YouSound may retain other information about you for the activities described in our Terms, or as permitted or required by applicable law.Go to "Settings", then click "Delete Account"
(Verified Artists) Download your songsLog into your account, play your own songs, and use the download button on the footer player to download your songs
To disable activity sharing with friends, you must close your accountGo to "Settings", then click "Delete Account"
De-link your account from your other accounts and services (such as Stripe.com) and opt out of sharing between the YouSound Services and Payment Gateways.Go to "Settings", then click "Payment Gateway" and click "Disconnect Stripe"
Opt out of non-transactional email or push notificationsUse the "unsubscribe" link included in each email

Account Deletion Policy

When you choose to delete your account, please note that account deletion is immediate and permanent. All data is completely purged from our servers, and deletion propagates across all data centers within 24 hours. No data recovery is possible after deletion, and associated content, including playlists and uploads, will be permanently removed.

EEA Data Subject Rights

Residents of the European Economic Area ("EEA") can exercise certain data subject rights available to them under applicable data protection laws. Where such rights apply, we will comply with requests to exercise these rights in accordance with applicable law. Please note, however, that we are not legally required to accommodate such requests under all circumstances, which may include if we need to keep processing your information for our legitimate interests or to comply with a legal obligation.

We may request you provide us with information necessary to confirm your identity (such as your IP address, date of birth, transaction IDs, and email address) before responding to your request.

Obtain access to or a copy of certain personal information we hold about you.If you want to see your account information, login, then go to the "Settings" page, then click "View All of Your User Submitted Data"
Update personal information which is out of date or incorrectTo update your account or profile information, login, then go to the "Settings" page, and update out-of-date or incorrect information.
Delete certain personal information which we are holding about youGo to "Settings", then click "Delete Account". Your information is permanently deleted within 7 days. View our Terms clause "Personal Information" to see the specifics.
Restrict the way that we process and disclose specific personal information about you.Go to "Settings", then click "Delete Account".
Transfer your personal information to a third-party provider of servicesTo allow users to send and accept payments, we use various Payment Gateways. To remove a Payment Gateway from your account, go to "Settings", then click "Payment Gateway" and click disconnect.
Object to the processing of your personal informationGo to "Settings", then click "Delete Account".
