Community Guidelines

Our mission is to provide a safe and ethical music streaming experience. All users must follow our Community Guidelines. YouSound reserves the right to terminate any account for conduct we consider inappropriate or harmful. For first and second infractions, users will be notified via their registered email address. For content or behavior that violates our Community Guidelines, YouSound may disable streaming and upload privileges, remove content, restrict account features, and terminate accounts in cases of severe violations. Account termination results in the removal of all associated content, including uploaded music, created playlists, profile data, analytics history, and revenue earnings. YouSound is an open platform empowering artists and listeners to share and discover music while creating revenue opportunities. To protect this ecosystem, we maintain a zero-tolerance policy for serious violations. Account terminations are permanent unless explicitly reinstated by YouSound staff, and reinstated accounts may not recover previously stored content or data.

Respect The Law

Users must comply with all applicable local, regional, national, and international laws while using YouSound. This includes music licensing and copyright laws, digital rights management, content distribution regulations, and financial and tax requirements for monetization. Any behavior or content that promotes, encourages, or solicits illegal activity is strictly prohibited and may result in immediate account termination.

Evasion of Termination

Account terminations remain binding until explicitly reversed by an official YouSound representative. The following actions are prohibited and will result in immediate termination of any new or associated accounts: creating new accounts after termination, using another user's account to upload terminated content, attempting to monetize content through alternative accounts, and circumventing streaming or upload restrictions.

Self-Abuse Conduct

Any conduct or activity that may endanger your life or cause you physical harm is strictly prohibited. This includes, but is not limited to: use of illegal drugs, suicide threats, intentional physical trauma, use of weapons on yourself, and excessive alcohol consumption.

Harmful Content

Content that promotes or glorifies self-harm, suicide, or dangerous behavior is strictly prohibited. This includes, but is not limited to music, lyrics, or artwork that promotes dangerous drug use or substance abuse, encourages self-harm or suicide, glorifies eating disorders or harmful behavior, and promotes excessive alcohol consumption.

Threats of Violence

Content containing threats or promotion of violence is strictly prohibited. This includes music, lyrics, artwork, or user interactions that contain direct threats of physical harm or death, promotion of terrorism or extremist violence, graphic descriptions of violence or gore, threats of cybercrime or technological harm, and incitement of violence against individuals or groups.

Hate Speech & Harassment

YouSound prohibits hate speech and content that promotes discrimination based on ethnicity, race, sex, religion, sexual orientation, gender, age, medical condition, disability, or physical characteristics. This applies to song lyrics and musical content, artist and album descriptions, playlist names and descriptions, profile information and comments, and user interactions and messages. The following behaviors are prohibited: targeted harassment of artists or users, creating accounts to harass others, organizing harassment campaigns, stalking or unwanted repeated contact, doxxing or sharing private information, malicious reporting or flagging, explicit sexual content or advances, and content exploiting or sexualizing minors.

Prohibited Behavior

Violations of these guidelines will result in immediate account termination. YouSound may also take legal action against users who engage in serious violations, including cooperation with law enforcement when necessary. Our platform must not be used to promote hate, harassment, or harmful conduct, whether directed at YouSound users or others.

Privacy Protection

Sharing private information of others is strictly prohibited. This includes any personal information about users or artists on or off YouSound without explicit permission. Prohibited disclosures include personal identification (real names, locations, IDs), private contact information, financial or payment details, information from private/protected profiles, private messages or correspondence, and unreleased or leaked music content.

Impersonation

Impersonating artists, labels, or other users is strictly prohibited. This includes creating accounts pretending to be established artists, uploading music under false artist names, misrepresenting label or rights holder affiliation, using misleading profile information, and falsifying verification status.

Platform Abuse

Actions that compromise platform integrity or user experience are prohibited, including artificial stream manipulation, bot accounts or automated engagement, spam uploads or comments, unauthorized advertising, phishing or fraud attempts, malware distribution, misleading metadata or tags, fake engagement metrics, and account selling or trading.

Explicit Content

While YouSound allows explicit music when properly labeled, certain content remains prohibited, including pornographic images in artwork or profiles, graphic violence in visuals or lyrics, content promoting sexual exploitation, any content involving minors in sexual context, and non-consensual intimate content. Violations involving exploitation or abuse will be reported to relevant authorities, including the National Center for Missing & Exploited Children when applicable. Extreme Violence & Gore

Visual or audio content that focuses on extreme violence and/or gore is prohibited.

Content Standards

All content on YouSound must adhere to these standards: proper labeling of explicit content, no hate speech or discriminatory messaging, no extreme violence or gore in audio or artwork, accurate and truthful metadata, no unauthorized copyrighted material, and no malicious or harmful content.

Copyright & Intellectual Property

YouSound takes intellectual property rights seriously. Users must only upload content they own or have proper rights to share. Violations may result in DMCA takedowns and account strikes. Users must own or have rights to both musical composition and sound recording. Samples and remixes require proper clearance and licensing from rights holders. Cover songs need appropriate mechanical and performance licenses. Premium users may access additional licensing rights as specified in their agreement.

Premium & Monetization

Verified artists can access premium features and monetization. The following activities are prohibited: artificial streaming or engagement, misleading subscription practices, unauthorized account sharing or resale, false verification claims, and payment fraud.
